Marley & me

My first movie date with Libra boy.....!

I wasn't expecting this to be a movie about a labrador. If i had known........
(*note!!! spoiler ahead - stop reading if u havent watch the movie*)

......that Marley will die at the end, I would have watched Seven Pounds.

See, I have this thing about dog dying in movies......it's because I love dogs and whenever I see a dog dying in the movie, my tears will flow automatically.

So embarassing...!!! First movie date somemore.. ....but of course i diverted my attention abit, trying not to concentrate on what Owen Wilson or Jen Anniston was saying or watching their facial expression, or else I will need more than a pack of tissue....and come across as a bloody emotional freak.....not to mention my ruined mascara....

Horror Date No II - Mr Scrooge

A fren wanted to introduce me to this mr tall-fair-handsome-single-financially stable-intelligent-aged 34 (according to her lah) guy for ages.

C: If he is so good, how come no girls lining up at his door ?
J: He's got high expectations.
C: Wah, what makes you think i can meet his "expectations"
J: Never try never know.

After a few fake "im not feeling well" excuses, my friend took matters to her own hands, bluffing that she want to have a "girl talk" session but instead arranged for a date with mr tall-fair-handsome-single-financially stable-intelligent-aged 34. Yep, sort of a "blind date".

First impression was OK. He is tall & fair but definately not the drop dead gorgeous type, the rest i have yet to find out. We had a friendly time.

After that we exchanged emails/sms and chatted abit. Then he asked if i wanted to have dinner at SS2 as he will be nearby there blah blah. Yeah ok why not ? He seems nice.

So we went to Island Cafe and when I asked for the bill, i thought he was joking:

"Since I paid for the last round, this round ur turn"

He laughed. And i laughed with him.

I honestly thought he was joking but when he didn't take out his wallet to pay, umm......?!?!

Isnt that a bit ungentlemanly? I mean, doesn't he want to create a good impression? Well ok, maybe some people is careful with money. Maybe this is really just a friends having dinner session. I did not mind repaying him for the last round but it's the way he asked for it.

The next date was lunch and movie at the curve. During the ride, he asked what i wanted to have for lunch. I told him i feel like eating fast food.

S: Pizza ?
C: Sure.
S: You like dominoes or pizza hut?
C: Pizza hut
S: But i like dominoes.
C: So, you want dominoes? I've got no problems with that.
S: Let's eat something else
C: How about sushi ?
S: YUCK!! i cant stand japanese food. I hate raw things
C (feeling slightly annoyed) : KFC. It's fried.
S: So oily, u not scared to be fat one ar ?
C: Then eat O'briens sandwich. healthly. no oil.
S: I make for you better la. That place rips people off. One egg sandwich cost ........
C: (feeling very annoyed i interupted him) okok. Up to you.

When we reached the curve, this scrooge brought me to the Penang Kopitam place. I dunt mind, I am not particular about food. It's the conversation that's worth the next paragraph:

S: Normally Sat Night what you do one?
C: Watch match...
S: Football? I can't stand it. Why some people so STUPID can watch 22 idiots chasing after a ball? Please lah, watch Wah Lai Toi better lah, got movie on Saturday nights right? and blah blah blah

Oi..!! u calling me STUPID ?? I did contemplate whether to slap him or not. If you dunt like to watch then just shut it. What's with the sarcastic remark ? I hate it when people use that line about the 22 idiots on the field. I do not say anything about their obsessiveness with porn or masturbation why they wanna open their goddamn big mouth ? Get off my back man.

At this point, i am already regretting the date and he came up with this:

S: Total is 28++ (brings out his phone and start keying some numbers) Your share is rm13.50 plus the movie ticket rm10. Total 23. 50.

Trying not to laugh and silently cursing J in my mind I gave him my share.

When we reached the cinema, he told me he want to have some popcorn and a mineral water.

C: Go ahead. the line's there.
S: Can you get it for me, i want to go toilet.

Sigh.

I do not mind to go dutch but i cant stand stingy people who calculate till the last cent and sometimes even take advantage of not paying for anything. You see, before this date, we did go out in a group and that time he was analyzing the bill for like a minute with the waiter standing there. Its not nice to see lah. We are all grown ups, still wanna act like this ?? My other friend couldnt stand it, took the bill and paid. He didn't even pay back his share.

After that he still calls me out for "dates" but i am back to being the sick cookie, having period cramps for one week, the next week fever & flu , third week food poisoning (yes i have a weak immune system) until he sms and asked if i am avoiding him.

Duh ?!?!?!

I never replied and never saw him again.

No wonder mr tall & whatever is still single. Not that he got high expectations.

A scrooge is never well liked.

Horror Date No 1

Being single is quite fun. You get to go out any time, any day, anywhere, everything's just so flexible and you do not have to report to your other half or ask for permission to go out somewhere....

And the best thing is you get to blog about your horror dates :D

This is a classic horror date.

i met this "Singaporean" at one of those boring seminars and after some small introductory chat he asked if I will be kind enough to take him out for dinner as he doesn't know anybody in town blah blah blah. Since I wasn't relishing the idea of going back at 6pm with the traffic out there, I agreed.

We went to Matrix at Phileo Damansara. He ordered a bottle of Chivas and some food and here's some conversation:

S: I have my own accounting firm.
C: Oh thats great. And you're still so young.
S: If you want, you can come and work for me. i wanna open a branch at JB. I'll provide you with a car and condo. How much are you earning now?
C: around 8k (bluff one lah - he boast mah)
S: i can give you double the amount. I'll pay you in Sing Dollars.

LOL...!!!!
does he think he is with a 16 yr old girl ???

Continue:

C: Thx for ur offer but im happy with my job here
S: (pouring a noticeable large amount of whiskey to my drink) I'm serious you know. If you want we can discuss this later .

I don't believe this. Does every Singaporean thinks that Malaysian girls will fall at their feet when they hear the word "condo" or "car".

Then, he keep pouring more and more whiskey on my drink and keep boasting about how successful he is.

More:

C: Are you taking the flight back after the seminar?
S: No i came here by bus.

WHAT ? So succesful with own accounting firm, own a few properties, a few cars but still got to take the BUS ????

Accurately predicting my thoughts he said:
S: I can afford anytime. I've been to Europe, USA and practically everywhere. It's the time taken to travel. It's easier to take the bus to Malaysia.

Hmm....perhaps. But STILL ???

After about one hour or more I couldn't stand his boasting anymore and he kept trying to get me drunk, the idiot. I made some crappy excuse to leave. He was staying at East-In hotel and i had to show him the way to go back. During the walk, this creature possesed him:

Damn..!!! You wouldn't believe where his hands travelled. I quickly shoved him off and left. He shouted:

S: Hey, don't you wanna come up for coffee?

What the %$#@ ?? Is this some kind of TVB drama ? Is someone filming this ?? I didn't bother to answer and kept walking to my car, nervously glancing back to see if he was following. When i reach my car, my mobile rang. It was a private number.

S: Hey, it's Singaporean. You left "something" with me.
C: What is it?
S: Come to my room. I show you
C: Goodbye

2 minutes later, he called again. This time i didn't pick up. And he kept ringing. He even used the hotel phone to call me. I recognise the "7954 XXXX" number.

What a nightmare. Next time, give me the traffic jam.

Jane caught John looking at her and smiled shyly.
They talk. Numbers exchange.

During a telephone call:
John: Want to go to Jaya (section 14) tommorow?
Jane: (giggling) OK.

During the date:
John: Are you coming to our campfire this saturday?
Jane: (giggling) Yes.
John thinking to himself: such a cute girl when she giggle.
Jane thinking to herself: OMG he is so cute.

During another telephone call:
John: I got something to ask you.
Jane: (pause) what ? ask-lah
John: (pause)
Jane: ask-lah
John: I like you.
Jane: (giggling) I like you too (giggling)
John: So we go steady ar?
Jane: (giggling) ok lor.
