A college visit, Movie & Match

This is going to be a rather long post (i think)

Early Friday morning, our salary was finally released. At least my boss kept his word. I didn't have time to bank in b4 12pm as I had a network site survey with Kolej Yayasan UEM located at Lembah Beringin (after Rawang). It was a long drive, abt 45 mins. The college is still new, lots of renovations going on and plenty of empty classrooms filled with wooden desk and chairs (like in our school time) After about 20 minutes of walking underneath the HOT SUN, i got bored and started snapping photos to distract myself from the heat.

First stop was the student's chalet. One chalet fits about 4 - 6 people. Here's how a typical chalet looks like:

There's this 2 funny signs which i took:

It says no males allowed in the female chalet. And then, there's this :

No females allowed. But see the next photo:

They live side by side. Now, how can the security guard be watching out for them when his guard house is located at the end of the corrridor which is about 1km long?

After about 1.5 hours of walking all around the campus, I was becoming moody. Hello, we are not talking about walking in 10 degrees celcius with nice cold breeze blowing. It's bloody 36 degrees !! THAT IS EXTREMELY HOT !! There's this too :

If u enlarge the photo, u can see those giant red ants all around the campus, waiting to bite u. I was wearing high heels with no covers. One wrong step and i'll be suffering from itch and pain for the rest of the day. No way !! i have a nice evening plan later. I pity those students hanging their clothes outside to dry. With so many ants around, they might just crawl un-noticed into one of their underwears.

Finally, 2.5 hours later, we wrap things up and what a relief to be inside my boss's car with full blast air cond. I'm not spoilt, occasionaly i like to sweat but with proper attire like shorts and sleeveless workout clothes. Not with my dress and high heels !

Anyway, i had to work late again, and by the time i leave the office it was all jammed up but i still manage to reach early and have a nice dinner with Sue & Angie. We then went to watch Definately, Maybe :

The storyline is good. A romance movie, so err the boys can skip it =P

The drinking plan was scrapped as my grandma called (again) requesting me to go back home. Actually i was kinda tired too with all the walking earlier.

Today (Saturday - coz im typing this at almost 4 in the morning) I woke up and bought my brunch. As usual i will either eat the delicious SS19 nasi lemak or pan mee. I had nasi lemak. Nice. After that watch abit of TV and went to take a nap. Feeling refreshed i decided to go for my long awaited massage. The massage was quite painful. Must be all the stress. Anyway i just love to hear the cracking sound. No, i am not into BDSM hahaha !

I went slightly crazy too, shopped a bit, bought more Manchester United stuffs to add to the other stuffs i already own. I bought some tops and dresses. I love shopping therapy !!

Another good weekend therapy is to watch MU win against Blackburn. Time to cheer !!

Unfortunately, the match filled me with anxiety. Blackburn scored first and we had to wait till almost the very last minute to get an equaliser. This Brad Friedel (the keeper) is like Super Plastic Man !!! He saved all the shots and even a goal on the line !! What the heck ??!! Luck was not with MU, but i'm still glad they got a point, thanks to Carlos Tevez's header. I am beginning to admire him.

Bring on Chelsea next week. We will win the title at the bridge.

Definately, NO MAYBE !!

A bad day which ended good

My day didn't started out too brightly last Sunday. I woke up about 12pm and was suppose to go for squash but I was feeling really lazy and wanted to stay home to watch F1. My buddy would not hear anything of this sort and dragged me out of the house.

During squash, because of the lack of warm-up before the game, I fell down and bits of skin came off my hand, elbow and knees. It's not painful at that moment but you feel the pain after. We then proceeded to TTDI for the Tiger Event, where I stepped on a pool of water + mud upon getting out of the car, wetting my jeans and feet. After getting our seats in front of bamboo, the waiters decided to move the tables to the front a little so that it won't block people from going in & out of the entrance. While moving, the table toppled over and few bottles of beer spilled all over my jeans and top. Crap. With all these bad luck "chi" I was thinking that MU will probably lose the game and I will be in a very bad mood on Monday with all the Liverpool fans bragging & teasing me.

Thankfully no such thing happened.

What an exciting match ! Our defenders were brilliant in stopping Torres. For most of the game, I hardly notice his existence. Benitez was complaining they were rough handling him and he had to go for a scan. What a sissy. I suggest they stop whining and really look into their team performance problem. Mascherano deserved to be sent off. He gave some bad tackles and was shouting vulgarities all around the field.

Anyway, the night ended well as I predicted the correct score and won a RED Sony Ericsson phone. Suddenly, my day doesn't seem too bad at all =)

Poppy & Sky Bar

I juz wonder about their renovations, why do they have all those funny steps in all kinds of funny places plus a swimming pool right in the middle of their vicinity? Poppy is even worse, one mis-step and u find ur feet in about 6 inches of water. Can you imagine when ur slightly tipsy and want to go to the washroom? Okay, say ur not tipsy, but want to go to the bathroom and some idiot who had quite a bit to drink decided to push you into the pool......

A wedding & few X'mas parties.

I know it's been a long time since my last post. Zillions of things have happened since then that I do not know which topic to start off with. Well, I would love to talk about my favourite team and their overall performance these past 2 months, (which is excellent !! excellent !!) but let's leave that till abit later (got people complain that they can read the news from soccernet if they want) :p

hmmm...ok, let's start with the christmas celebrations, I started the celebrations abit early, on the 20th and drank non-stop daily till the 28th. When new year arrive, i was already sick. I actually didn't celebrate New Year's Eve, coz my body was over-heated due to the excessive alcohol & late nights. I was having cold sweats and feeling extremely hot but without fever. It's weird. I've never felt anything like this before. It's not really those full blown sickness type, like when you have the flu. You just feel weak and an overall sense of uncomfortability.

A collage of X'mas photos

Michelle's wedding was slotted in between those parties, she had two wedding dinners, one in Melaka (23rd) and the other in Westin, KL (25th - yes, Xmas day). Both was a wonderful event, I am truly happy for her because her husband, John, is a really sweet guy. He has such a kind face and is so calm all the time.

Why can't every month be December ?

BBQ Party with an old friend

It's been a long time since I last barbequed coz I'm lazy to clean up after a party. We were planning on just buying some KFC and have a few drinks but i received a call on Tuesday that it was to be a bbq session and im supposed to buy junk food & drinks.

E: Imelda wants "Oh YAH"
Me: What the hell is "OH YAH" ????
E: dunno ler....Beats me man....
Me: (after some thinking) CHEEZELS izzit ???
E: Ya ya , last time the advertisement is oh yah oh yah....remember ??
ME: hahaha..

When I reached E's apartment, I drove past Imelda Kwan whom i havent seen for more than 10 years and smiled to her. She didn't smile back !! $#@% She couldn't recognise me....!!!! No wonder when i say "Hi" to her, she look unfriendly and gave me the "who's this chick" look......

suddenly.....

Imelda: do i know u ???
Me: WHAT ??????

Eileen & Michelle was laughing already.

Michelle: OMG Imelda, u can't recognise our friend????

Imelda: huh, dunt tell me ur Corinne ar ??? where's ur glasses ??? and ur hair....last time ur hair is thick thick and BIG one rite, why now so flat ???

Me: Woiiii of corz flat lah......how many years already ???? hairstyle sure change lah....and nowadays got contact lens lah derrrrrrrrrr!!!!! Want me to slap u or not ????

Lai Lai: (in between laughs) Please lah Mel, dunt tell us you thought Corinne was a stranger trying to kau u ???

Me: Jesus......Mel....................??????

Imelda: oh noooooo lah, of course not.....look at u lah, what a dramatic change.....

Michelle: Perhaps Corinne should wear the school uniform and put on her glasses so Imelda dunt get confused again......

LOL.......i wonder where's my school uniform...the blue color pinafore....hahahhaha

Anyway we had a really good time, Lai Lai was the belle of the party with her straightforwardness and jokes about her travel experiences. We chatted everything from ex school mates, bra sizes & men & woman. I've never laughed so much in such a long time.

I'm looking forward to club with Imelda and see her in action.

Over Indulgence

Finally, some quiet time to myself.

Let's recap my Raya celebration...

On Saturday, I wanted to go for a much needed massage (my shoulder is still killing me) but in the end i went window shopping trying to decide which camera & phone i should buy. Nope, I didn't go to The Gardens as planned, too lazy to drive so far on a holiday. Ha ha, yeah i admit, i am a lazy person. Later i spent the night drinking wine & whiskey at my friend's house. It's the holidays! What better way to spend it than drinking ourselves to the seventh heaven ? :D

One of the highlight that night was England winning 3 - 0 against Estonia and our ROO boy scored !

Way to go ROONEY !

Sunday, i played pool at TTDI and later dragged my "heng tai" out to Velvet. We didn't know there was a Raya Mambo thingy going on. No wonder that place was so packed. The music was good though, i drank quite a bit but managed to find my way home at 5am.

Monday i slept till late and was wondering whether i should exercise myself to exhaustion so that I can sleep early. Have to work the next day.....

I ended up having wine & cheese & sausages at a friend's new condo & slept at 4am.

You can imagine the state i was in the next day. Thank God i drank a glass of Vitamin C before sleeping, dunno if it's psychology or what, I found some hidden energy that help me last till 5pm. My collegues were all having headaches and dizzy spells. Some partied too much, some over slept. My boss also ponteng lah. He went out in the afternoon and never came back.

When I reached home, I was nearly dying. Ha ha ha. Too much partying. Old already, my body cannot be subjected to 4 days of drinking in a row. Anyway, i had early bed rest for the past 2 days. Yesterday i had a slight fever and throat infection so being the kiasu chinese girl I downed a couple of chinese herbal cooling tea and took some Panadols.

This morning my collegue asked if i got cry last night.

C: (looking blur) huh ??? Cry??

D: England lah.

C: WHAT ??? THEY LOST ???!!!!! &^%%$#@!!!!!

i was so confident that they will win that i didn't bother to watch the match. Actually i didn't know they were playing at 11pm...lol....i thought they were gonna play at 3am and I can't afford another late night with the fever...

When will they learn ?? When will they sack Mclaren ?? What if England dunt make it to Euro ??? WHat is EURO 2008 without ENGLAND i ask u ??? &^%%*(%$#@!!!!

Sigh....

better turn our attention to the exciting F1 weekend than to dwell on stupid coaching tactics.

I will be rooting for KIMI of course. i know it's quite impossible that he will win the title but perhaps Massa will accidently ram into Hamilton's car and perhaps Alonso's Mclaren will suddenly run out of petrol....hehehehe..........

Good luck KIMI !! :D

Titanic

Yesterday i was suppose to have lunch with some of my favourite friends at the newly opened Jaya 33. I was looking forward to it as I have been "jailed" in the office from 8.30 to 1700 for the past two weeks, except to go out for some appointments with customers. There's simply no chance to slip out for any coffee breaks to catch up on the latest gossips.

Around 9.30, while i was making my morning coffee at the pantry, my boss came up to me and asked me to follow them to Port Klang for a meeting with our Titanic customer. OK lah, i thought we can still make it back by 1300, i'll just be a bit late. I am quite excited to go for the meeting since I've never been on a real Titanic before. If I'm lucky, i might have a tour and meet some cute sailors.....

The meeting ended around 1215 and i happily sms my frens informing them i'll most probably arrive at 1315. Five minutes later while in the car, my boss asked us if we would like to have lunch at Teluk Gong. Aiseh..... how to tell him i have a personal lunch appointment? My collegues was there too and they have not been to Teluk Gong for seafood, I dun't think it's nice to deprived them of this luxurious lunch privilege, so I sms my frens again to cancel and is now known as the FFK (FONG FEI KEI) Queen....hahaha....

Anyway, I did have a good time at the customer's place. There was no tour but I saw a few gweilo pilots walking around and a small titanic parked at the dock? or port ? What terms do u use ?

I stole a picture of it from the window:

Not very clear but u can still catch a glimpse of the ship

It's overall another pleasant week and I have the long weekend to look forward since it's the RAYA holidays. Time to catch up on some sleep and tv.

*Selamat Hari Raya to all my Muslim friends*

Mooncake Gathering 220907

Had a mooncake gathering on Saturday with some lelongers and their families. It was really nice to meet the person behind their nickname. The most talkative award had to go to Ceo who bluffed that he drove a mercedes when we went to re-park our cars. He got me there for a moment...!!!

Vivi made some jelly mooncakes and I love it !! It's shaped exactly like a mooncake and there's even an egg yolk colour in the middle.

Can you guess who is who from the photos below? There's jennwah, lunaticg, bai1101, ceo684, henrytb, scorgio, alancheah, vivienlpl, zeebra, jimmychoo & huannchin :D

After eating so much on Saturday I went to Telok Gong on Sunday and ate about 7 dishes + some beers. My weighing machine is now hidden deep underneath somewhere. No way am i going to see how much I weigh now.

I grabbed the photo below from Vivi's blog, i really like the color and background (ignore the two models please) I think Vivi can give the photographer maniac (you know the guy who keep snapping our photos that night) a run for his money.

Almost forgot, Jennwah brought a cake specially for this gathering (selective memory - MORE KGs added thats why i conveniently try to "forget" about it). Thanks Jennwah :)

Fireworks at Putrajaya

Went to watch the fireworks display on Sunday. No, I didnt pay for the ticket. My frens parked across the lake and we watched from there, absolute FREE.

It was a rainy evening, actually it has been raining for the whole day and the rain was expected to stop before 6pm, but it carried on way till 9pm. Luckily we were able to find a good spot, and although we had to eat KFC & Pizza with one hand, the other holding an umbrella (standing) it was still fun.

the group that went

I've also got the chance to experience the so-call- china-umbrella-style toilet, ummm....i think i better not elaborate further, you may use ur imagination (this is what you have to do when you dunt pay for proper entertainment)

Attempting to slip "something" into the tiger ???

We left around 2245 and only reach home at 1.00 coz of the massive traffic. All in all, an entertaining evening.

P1 Staff Appreciation Night

My boss sent an email earlier this week, informing us that there will be a "staff appreciation night" at TGIF on the 31st August 2007.

We are allowed to bring "partners" as long as they're not our official bf or gf so that we can have scandalous fun that night. My boss said these kind of functions are the perfect excuse for getting the taste of being "single" even it is only for few hours and he wanna hug as many girls as he can get hold off. And my other collegues all dished out comments like:

"Sure ill be bringing someone but not "insert gf's name here". I'm not stupid"

"Which one you bringing ? Make sure it's not that guy who knows "insert gf's name here"."

"Please don't tell my gf got drinks after dinner. I send her home first. ShhHhhh !!! (grinning while imagining the fun he will be having)"

MEN....!!!!!! ......sigh....

In the end, they all still brought their "official partners". Talk only lah....

We had a faboulous time at TGIF Subang Parade. We ordered loads of appetizers and the best was the Mozarella Cheese & the Potato Skin with Cheese. YumMMmmm.....I feel like driving to TGIF to take-away some now.....I didnt take any photos of these yummy appetizers coz the guys were so hungry they stuck their fork into whichever their hands could reach as soon as the food was laid on the table.

Drinks - we ordered all the ultimate drinks. Our tables were full of colorful drinks. I ordered the Ultimate Mudslide and it was heaven.

Our main course was all the Jack Daniel's specials. I had the Salmon & shrimp with Jack Daniel's sauce. Most of them ordered the beef steak which looks really good.

After the main course, someone ordered the famous TGIF desert. By this time I was already very full but my technical manager still insist that i try the Mud Pie. "Its really good - You must try it"

After a while of pretending not to notice the cake, he shoved the fork onto my hand.

OK OK, i took a bite to humour him.

It tastes cold.

Please don't think too much about my comment coz I was really too full and whatever that goes in will not have any taste. Plus, I am not a sweet tooth type of person and the only cakes i eat are cheesecakes.

Perhaps I'll bring a cake lover to TGIF and try again. It looks good though. Oh... the reason why it's so cold was coz its an ice-cream cake.

After dinner we went to this pub at Sunway. Of course all of them drop their partners or wife at home and came alone. Cameras were banned at this point so i do not have any "ahem" photos to show but there were some which i took with my phone and i will have a fun time at work next week :D

Friday nite at The Curve

The trio of us went to La Gourmet House at The Curve for a nice quiet & catch-up dinner. The other two recommended the "lamb shank" as Chua ate that the last time and was full of praises for it. hmm...why wasnt i there that time....oh yeah.... had to be the receptionist of the day at office. Shortage of staffs. It was a fun & quiet dinner & also sort of a "make-up" session due to some misunderstanding that occured at the "zin" but being mature ppl (ha ha i know ur laughing there ...*slap*) we have buried the past & dump it to the recycle bin and emptied it too...

.......OMG !!! wat kind of line was that with the recycle bin...??? i think i shld get out of the IT industry......

Anyway, I trully enjoyed the delightful companionship tonite :D

Cheesecakes at Bakerzin

New York Cheesecake

I reckon Bakerzin sells the best cheesecake in town. So far ive tasted cheesecakes from Itallianis, Secret Recipe, some other bakery restaurants, shops & hotels and they all cant be compared to those at Bakerzin. Actually I'm not a cake lover but I love cheese. I must thank Andrew for introducing me to this wonderful indulgence. Please go try it if you love cheesecake, they are located at One Utama (New Wing)@ Petaling Jaya and Bangsar Village @ Bangsar. Oh i must warn you...they are only good for their desserts. Their food menu doesn't really taste that good, except for their Seafood Pasta. Try their New York Cheesecake & Cookies & Cream cheesecake. Stay away from their Walnut Cheesecake :)

20.07.2007

i didnt realise it was this date till i checked & saw an email wishing me a happy 20072007. There was spose to be a mini forum gathering to meet the elusive mr Cloud7, one of our favourite forumer and also the AHPUM (Association of Humsup Poor Old Man) president having taken over from Ccek. Ccek was the one to organised the gathering and we were to meet at Bella Itallia at ss2 at 6pm & later move on to coffee bean at 9pm. However we received a call that Cloud7 & his Lavagirl had a last minute appointment and he can onli meet us at coffee bean later. So a few of us and some non-forumers went for dinner, the mozarella cheese bread was quite nice and the pizza so-so. Because it was an early dinner, we had some time to kill so we went to Songbird for a few drinks & to sing a few. Alex humour us all with his rendition of "American Pie" & some other umm...old songs...

9pm came and finally the elusive mr Cloud7 arrived and we met him at Mongkok Char Chan Teng as Lavagirl wanted to have some bites. Perhaps it was the first time & also quite a short meeting, there was not enough time to break the ice and for everyone to warm up. There were moments when Cloud7 displayed his "personality" from the forum. Overall it was a nice enjoyable gathering.

Later a few of us went back to have a few drinks & supper and we onli went home around 3am. It's amazing how you can have so much fun at a place call "ss2". We practically spend the entire evening, night & morning there.
